Why, as a business person, should you care about the arts at Virginia Tech? Bill Sanders, a person with three divergent titles, but who perceives only one job, will explain how Virginia Tech plans to “enhance the presence and the practice of the arts at the university and in the communities it serves.” In so doing, Bill will provide a sampling of the surprising and diverse array of ideas and activities lurking behind that sound bite, and talk about ways the initiative—particularly the Center for Creative Technologies in the Arts—can contribute to increased economic opportunity and growth in our region.

Discussion Points and Take-Aways:
  1. Reconsider the real source of economic prosperity.
  2. Learn about the major regional initiatives connected to the Arts Initiative at Virginia Tech.
  3. Think about a range of potential implications for various technology businesses in our region.
