E-waste is a hot topic right now, but just like other new trends, it’s important to understand the details. Currently, there are no EPA standards for E-waste recycling, so the destination and handling of your recycled electronics is entirely dependant upon the ethics and policies of your recycler. Do you have a stack of hard drives laying around because you aren’t comfortable putting your data in someone else’s hands? Which products have recycled value, which are difficult to recycle, and why. Your old computers can be recycled, but those that need them often don’t have the expertise to make your old 486 useful. So, it’s important to understand the needs and appropriate channels to make sure your computer is valuable to the recipient so it can be reused. Please join us on January 22nd and find out what really happens to E-waste after it leaves your hands.

Discussion Points and Take-Aways:
  1. Learn how to identify an E-waste recycler with environmental and privacy standards that also ensure the security of your “trapped” data.
  2. Find out how to donate your old computers so they can readily be reused.
  3. Get an insider’s scoop about the E-waste industry that will make you a better consumer and producer of electronic goods.
