A Lessons in Leadership Workshop:
“Alignment Leads to Engagement”

Thursday, August 11, 2011
8:30am-12:30pm
New River Community College
(at the NRV Mall Location in Christiansburg)

Growing businesses often struggle with many seemingly unrelated problems. These challenges consume a lot of time and resources and ultimately hinder profitability. While keeping all of the plates spinning, it may be hard to see that many of these challenges stem from misalignment and leadership issues at various levels within the organization. The RBTC community is full of companies in transition and to help you assess the status of your organization, we have prepared a half-day workshop with insights from 3 leadership gurus.

Key Take-Aways and Discussion Points:
  • Targeted outcomes of leadership alignment:
    • Increase organizational performance, efficiency, and productivity
    • Improve employee satisfaction and engagement
    • Reduce power struggles within the organization
  • Enabling a culture of ownership and feedback is necessary for continuous leadership alignment
  • Getting employees to take ownership; what they need from you, dealing with the entitled employee; the motivated but unsuccessful employee; and other scenarios
  • Transitioning from a technical role to a leadership role
  • The importance of a unified leadership program or “philosophy”

Who should attend:
