Four years ago he was a Franklin County assistant principal with a dream: To help change how we educate our children. On the ride home from a wedding with his wife and best friend, Jon hatched a plan. By the time they exited the car, his wife had agreed to mortgage their home and his friend had agreed to quit his job. Interactive Achievement was started the very next day in Roanoke.
Interactive Achievement anticipated the need to provide teachers with a better tool to assess their students’ progress. While still a principal during the day, Jon donned his CEO hat at night, but being a principal was not exactly boot camp for a tech start-up entrepreneur. He relied heavily on input from his wife and mentors from the NCTC community to help grow into his new role.
Interactive Achievement is now in its third year and has grown from 4 to 17 employees in the past 14 months and the company now owns and operates in a refurbished historic building in downtown Roanoke. Join us on the 13th to learn more about Jon’s “education as a CEO", the challenges currently facing his company, and what the future looks like for this NCTC Rising Star!
