Job Boards

  • RBTC Job Board - This is probably the largest listing of local area technology jobs! You can also submit your resume for employers to review.
  • Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center - Home to over 100 companies engaged in leading edge technology.
  • Roanoke Times - Lists jobs online and in the paper. "The Current" section of their paper focuses on the New River Valley and its jobs.
  • More than half of the jobs on a college campus are non-faculty. So, it stands to reason that there are job opportunities at the 7 colleges and universities in the region. Click here for a list.

Employment Agencies

Professional recruiters often know about jobs that are not posted to websites or otherwise made public and many firms don't have the in house recruiters necessary to fill of their openings. So, it's usually a good idea to make contact with a few recruiters and have more than one set of eyeballs (yours) out there working for you. The following firms have good relationships with many of the tech companies in our area.

Other Resources and Recommendations

  • RBTC Member Directory - A list of 200+ companies in the area with links to their website - find out who's here and what they do.
  • RBTC Technology & Toast - The RBTC hosts monthly meetings to facilitate networking amongst our members. Tech-skilled job seekers looking to relocate to the area are encouraged to attend. This is a tight-knit group that likes to help each other.
