VT Alumni Publication

Dear Virginia Tech Alumni,

Virginia Tech is one of the premier institutions in the United States. Blacksburg is a special place where higher education and a strong sense of community spirit reside in an uncommonly beautiful place. In addition to the great schools and natural beauty of the area, hundreds of technology companies and entrepreneurs are choosing to launch their companies in the backyard of Hokie Nation. Not coincidentally, many of the founders and employees of these high impact companies are Virginia Tech alumni.

These companies will be the building blocks of economic success for this region. Much like Boston, Silicon Valley, and Research Triangle Park that developed around research institutions, Virginia Tech is poised to be the catalyst for a technology epicenter in Southwest Virginia. With fond memories of their years here, many alumni return seeking employment in the region. Others are investing in the companies founded here. I’d like to invite you and the Hokie Club members in your area to learn more about what’s happening in Southwest Virginia’s technology community.

Sincerely,
Cory Donovan
Executive Director
