Dwight D. Eisenhower and Winston Churchill had the right idea. Both had similar thoughts on planning: Plans are worthless; planning is everything. So as we gear up for Hurricane season (check out the FEMA Hurricane Preparedness Checklist site: http://www.ready.gov/hurricanes) the RBTC invites you to participate in a special Tech & Toast where you and your teams will have a chance to exercise your plans
Disasters affect businesses every single day. The tornadoes in Oklahoma this summer, wide-spread power outages in the northeast, our very own derecho last summer – these are real examples of interruptions that can have a serious impact on our ability to continue business (and maintain a revenue stream).
Do you know how to prepare effectively? What are the key elements of a business continuity plan and how can you get one in place fast?
In this interactive Tech & Toast, learn from senior business continuity and IT Disaster Recovery professionals who have experience developing and implementing plans for the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and many other companies. Participate in a mock disaster scenario affecting the Roanoke - Blacksburg region and share your experiences with your colleagues and peers.
We encourage you to bring your entire team to this event. Disaster scenarios will be given and each team will learn how to create a plan in response to each scenario. This could be beneficial knowledge for each member of your organization in the event of a natural disaster.
Discussion Points and Take-Aways:
1. Learn how to prepare your team for Disaster Recovery 2. Discover the resources available to assist in the recovery process 3. Gain insight and details on how to manage a crisis situation
