Weather Policy

The NCTC has established a plan for the communication of NCTC event changes in the case of inclement weather. If we can establish that weather conditions will hinder the safety of our members in route to an event, we will cancel and try to reschedule the program.

We will record a message on the event cancellation on the answering machine at 540-767-6282. This cancellation information will be recorded by 6:45 a.m. the morning of the event/meeting.

We will also contact channels 10 (WSLS-TV) and 7 (WDBJ-TV) and radio station WVTF/PBR, 89.1 on your FM dial, on the cancellation.

We can not guarantee the broadcast of this information will occur in a timely manner due to an often overloaded list of school closings. WDBJ does a good job on listing all closings on their web site at http://www.wdbj7.com/news.htm#closings. We will do our best to keep you informed.
