Blacksburg, Va., (June 18, 2004) – On Thursday June 17, The New Century Technology Council (NCTC) held the election of its new board of directors and executive officers. The newly elected Board members join present Board members, whose terms expire in 2005 and 2006, to help the NCTC refine and realize its long-term, strategic goals. The new Board members begin their term July 1, 2004 and serve for three years, while executive officers serve for one year.
The new Directors are:

· Kent Murphy, CEO, LUNA Innovations
· Marty Muscatello, President, CCS
· Jeff Shumate, REgional Marketin Manager, Nextel Partners

· VP, Public Liaison: Ray Pethtel, Transportation Fellow, Virginia Tech
· VP, Capital Access: Russ Ellis, President, Xcellos, Inc.
· VP, Entrepreneurial Development: Gary Atkinson, Regional Director, CIT
The Positions of VP, Capital Access and VP, Entrepreneurial Development are new positions created to bring proper organizational focus to those two critical areas of need in the technology industry.
